According to Scania Business Development Manager Grace Kilembe, the new Scania G420LB 6x2 HHA which has the capacity to carry a load of more than 33 tons is especially relevant for the Tanzanian market because of its reliability and low operating cost.

The G Series truck which features a spacious interior covers a broad range of applications from long haulage to the toughest of on and off- road construction and mining operations.

“We are proud to be the first country in Africa to have launched the G series truck which is among the latest in the Scania’s global truck range. We are also pleased that the customers who have started using it are happy with the overall performance of the truck,” continued Ms. Kilembe.

The G series truck which has the ability of changing gears using a system called Opticruise, is also equipped with an additional hydraulic brake system called Retarder and an Air Conditioner.

The first ever customer of the Scania G series truck in Tanzania, Prosper Mallya of Kaizari General Supplies Limited of Dar Es Salaam who has been using the truck for over a month now transporting goods to the lake region, said that the expense of running the new truck is significantly low comparing to other trucks.

“As a transporter I am very pleased with the performance of the G series truck because it uses less fuel which is currently a big problem for all transporters. As well the truck is equipped with some of the latest technology including a system that stops dirt from entering the radiator and the cooling system which enables the vehicle to operate for a long time without heating,” continued Mallya.
