Scania’s truck and bus business in Tanzania is growing continuously. After more than 34 years of operation
in the country the company now delivers a state of the art coach that is ideal for the regular long and
medium distance lines as well as for tourist transport services.

“This is a very important event for us” says Mr Anders Liss, MD of Scania Tanzania Ltd, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Scania CV AB, Sweden. “The timing feels right as we have been working very hard to
increase sales even more, and succeeded in doing so. After a time with substantial investments in especially
our workshop, Scania Assistance Service as well as the parts department, business is looking good.”

The Irizar bus body is being introduced for the first time in Tanzania and brings with it a new standard in
long and short haul passenger transport with added comfort, design, reliability and safety.

Irizar is a well known bus body builder from Spain that also has a factory in Brazil. It is targeting the upper
segment of the bus market with its Intercentury and Century models. Scania has globally a deep and long
lasting relationship with Irizar who is one of few preferred body builders.

“The Intercentury that we now show, is a true state of the art bus with our top of the range F114 front
engine chassis with 330 hp”, Mr Liss continues.
