The water which you pour in the engine cooling system is most of the time of bad or very bad quality. Apart from undesired particles, the water contains a certain amount of salt (especially in Dar es Salaam). Salt is a killer to the materials in the engine cooling system e.g. corroding aluminium, sometimes severely.
